RIGHT
PLACE INC. USER GROUPS
User groups are sponsored by Right Place Inc., a Non-Profit, greater Grand Rapids economic development
company, and the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Centers (MMTC). A User Group is a shared learning experience among a group
of five to fifteen companies. These companies commit to an organized, disciplined process of collective learning over an
extended period of time, typically a minimum of one year. The learning is usually focused around a specific topic and practical
applications of new approaches. To learn more about these user groups, please contact

SENSOR USER GROUP & TECHNOLOGY USER GROUPS Sponsored by
The Right Place Program and the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC)
The Sensor User Group & Technology
User Groups are two different groups that provide employees of member companies the opportunity to participate in a shared
learning experience on a focused topic area. Each company will share best practices through plant tours, shared technology
improvements and discussions on practical implementations of sensors in metal forming. Because sensor technology has advanced
so far in the past ten years, many employees have not received formal education and training in this rapidly changing field.
The field continues to advance at an accelerated rate. The user group format is a means to multiply your ability to keep up
with technology, and applications.
Tool designers, tool builders, sensor specialists, control engineers, and production
engineering technicians would benefit from this user group. 3-4 individuals are invited to attend from each company. Participants
should also have the desire to share successful techniques and are interested in improving tooling and production practices
their workplace.
